THE ROADS OF THE WINE – ½ day
Departing by private car from Luna Caprese (with an English speaking driver) you will drive to Torrecuso (BN) to visit a wine cellar located on a beautiful farm. The owners will share with you some of their best wines they produce and several samples of local food. They produce several red wine:
Aglianico del Taburno: it’s a grape cultivar brought by the Greek and the name “Uva Ellenica” (Greek grape) was transformed during the Naples Kingdom in “Uva Aglianica” (Aglianico’s grape), by the Aragonesi way of pronouncing the double “l” in “gl”.
Piedirosso: called by the elderly “Per’è Palumm” (pigeon foot) or “Piede Rosso” (red foot) for the reddish color of its stalk and the leaf nervature almost like a pigeon foot.
And white wine:
Falanghina : by the greco-latino meaning of the world “Falango” (stake), the characteristic of Campania viticulture is the “grapes trained and tied to the stake”,  or always by the greco-latino word “falange” (phalanx) giving it the meaning of fingers because the berry looks like it.
Coda di volpe: grape cultivar already known by Plinio the Old in his “Naturalis Historia” by the name “cauda Vulpium” (fox tail) because of the way the grape bunch looks like at maturity: “a fox tail”
Fiano:  grape cultivar called by the Latin “vitis apiana” (grapevine of bees) because the bees are particularly fond of its sweetness
Greco: the greco grape variety is named after the Pelasgian people of Thessaly, who brought it to Italy in the 8th Century b.C. it is also known as aminea gemina, due to its twin-shaped small bunches.

MOZZARELLA D.O.C. – ½ day
Departing by private car from Luna Caprese (with an English speaking driver) you will drive to Castelvolturno. This is the area where mozzarella was first produced. There you will visit the farm where you can follow the whole production process, from buffalo milk to smooth balls of mozzarella.. all freshly made. Afterwards, you will have the chance to taste the cheese the moment it is produced.
